Shaanxi Province Holds Economic and Trade Cooperation Fair in UK

On April 15 of local time in UK, the economic and trade delegation of Shaanxi Province held the 2010 China Shaanxi – UK Derby Economic and Trade Cooperation Fair in Derby, UK. Vice Governor Jing Junhai attended the fair and delivered a speech. Hillary Jones, mayor of Derby, Li Feng, commercial secretary of Chinese Embassy in UK, and Vince Cunningham, Chinese business consultant China-Britain Business Council, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony.

In his speech, Jing Junhai introduced the basic situations and favorable economic development trend of Shaanxi Province, promoted a batch of key economic and trade cooperation projects, and invited enterprises in UK to carry out economic and trace exchange activities in Shaanxi. Derby is an important town in terms of industry in UK. The world’s renowned Rolls-Royce engine and Rolls-Royce auto are all originate from this place.

During its staying in UK, the delegation of Shaanxi Province talked with the UK Trade & Investment, the China-Britain Business Council and the Derby Municipal Government. The Commerce Department of Shaanxi Province signed the strategic cooperation agreements that aim at promoting and enlarging the exchanges between enterprises in UK and Shaanxi with the China-Britain Business Council and the Derby Municipal Government. It is also determined that the China-Britain Business Council will organize a delegation of entrepreneurs in UK to visit Shaanxi in May to carry out economic and trade negotiation activities. Responsible persons of 15 enterprises including Xi'an Aero-Engine Group, Shaanxi Automobile Group, Shaanxi Fast Auto Drive Group and Baoti Group, and representatives of over 60 enterprises in aviation, auto and part, electronic communications, energy, oil and chemical, and environmental protection sectors in UK, carried out multiple rounds of face-to-face negotiations. A batch of enterprises reached the cooperation intentions.
